North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) is a science and technology oriented higher education institute in Nirjuli, Itanagar, in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Established in 1984, it is a deemed-to-be-university, autonomous, fully funded and controlled by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute is managed by a Board of Management, comprising representatives of Ministry of Education, GOI, the eight beneficiary states of the North Eastern region, AICTE and educationists. The state governor of Arunachal Pradesh is the de facto head of the highest body, NERIST Society, which consists of education ministers of all North Eastern States. The Board of Management is headed by the Chairman.

North-Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology Applications are invited from interested candidates for research staffs in a research project funded by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, New Delhi.

Project Title: Exploration of native legumes and characterization of associated nitrogen fixing microsymbionts in North-Eastern India for development of biofertilizers.

Eligibility

Position: Project Associate I

Post No 1: 1 st Class M.Sc. in Botany / Life Sciences / Forestry with specialization in higher Plant Taxonomy or Systematics. Candidates with working experience in higher plant Taxonomy having field work experiences in remote areas of North East India, sample collection, storage, herbarium preparation, germplasm collections, etc. will be preferred.
Post No 2: 1st Class M.Sc. in Botany / Life Sciences / Forestry /Microbiology with specialization in Microbiology/ Soil Microbiology. Candidates with working experience in Soil sample collection and Isolation of soil microflora particularly bacteria will be preferred.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• @ Rs. 31000+8% HRA for 1st and 2nd years and Rs. 35000+8% HRA for 3 rd year (for UGC/CSIR-NET/GATE/or equivalent qualified candidates) Or @ Rs. 25000+8% HRA for 1st and 2nd years and Rs. 28000+8% HRA from 3rd years onwards (for candidates without UGC/CSIR-NET/GATE/or equivalent qualified candidates)
