The National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy) is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Project Associate (PA)-I. This opportunity is part of a cutting-edge research project titled “Renewable-Integrated Smart EV Charging Platform Featuring Reconfigurability, Interoperability, and Grid Interactive Management (RISE)” under the guidance of Dr. V. Vignesh Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. This project is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), offering a unique chance for candidates to contribute to innovative research in the field of renewable energy and electric vehicle technology.
Description
The project aims to develop a smart EV charging platform that integrates renewable energy sources, ensuring reconfigurability and interoperability while managing grid interactions effectively. This role involves designing power converters, performing simulations, fabricating hardware, implementing control methods on digital platforms, and conducting experiments to validate prototypes. The selected candidates will also be responsible for purchasing equipment and writing technical reports and articles.

Eligibility
For the JRF position, candidates must have a B.E/B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or an M.E./MTech. in Power Electronics, Power Electronics & Drives, Control Systems, Power Systems, or any other relevant specialization with a valid GATE score. For the PA-I position, a B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or an M.E./MTech. in the aforementioned specializations is required. Candidates with an M.E./MTech. in Power Electronics are preferred.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (Gate qualified candidates): ₹37,000/- per month for the first two years and ₹42,000/- per month in the third year, subject to satisfactory performance and upgradation to Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
- Project Associate-I (PA-I) (Non-Gate qualified candidates): ₹30,000/- per month for the first two years and ₹33,000/- per month in the third year, subject to satisfactory performance and upgradation to Project Associate-II (PA-II).
