Description

The National Institute of Technology Silchar is seeking qualified candidates for temporary positions in a major research project titled “Translation: Early Modern Literary Texts from Sanskrit, Bengali, Marathi, and Telugu into Kannada (1800-2025-26).” This project is sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and aims to explore the translation of early modern literary texts into Kannada. The positions available are for one Research Assistant and two Field Investigators, each playing a crucial role in the project’s success.

Position

  • Research Assistant: 1 Position
  • Field Investigator: 2 Positions

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Research Assistant: Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences or Humanities with a minimum of 55% marks. Candidates should have cleared NET/M.Phil./Ph.D.
  • Field Investigator: Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences or Humanities with a minimum of 55% marks.

Desirable qualifications include familiarity with archival data collection methods, proficiency in Kannada and English, and experience with digital humanities tools and statistical analysis software.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Research Assistant: Rs. 37,000/- per month
  • Field Investigator: Rs. 20,000/- per month
