National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal is located in Mangalore City, Karnataka State, India. The Institute was established as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) in 1960, and upgraded as National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in 2002. Mangalore is the headquarters of the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, and boasts an important centre of education, business and trade in the state. Sri. U. Srinivasa Mallya, a visionary and a philanthropist, contributed immensely to the development of the coastal region of Karnataka, and his effort towards establishment of KREC (now NITK) is the most significant one. In recognition of his role as the founder and architect of the institute, the campus premises is named after him as Srinivasnagar.
Job Description
Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and Research Associate in a time bound of DRDO sponsored project undertaken in the Department of Information Technology of the Institute. The details are as follows.

Eligibility
Senior Research Fellow & Research Associate :
Essential Qualifications & Experience : M.E/M.Tech/ Ph.D. (for RA position) in Computer Science/ IT /E&C or in related disciplines with consistently good academic record and 2 years minimum experience is required. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of Network Security and Cryptography. Experience in implementing Security based projects or Knowing basics of Quantum Computing is an additional requirement. Candidate should have a qualified GATE score of any year, which would be relaxed in the cases of extremely good candidates.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Senior Research Fellow : Rs. 35,000 + 16% HRA (Total: Rs. 41,300)
- Research Associate : Rs. 49,000 + 16% HRA (Total: Rs. 57820)
