National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal is located in Mangalore City, Karnataka State, India. The Institute was established as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) in 1960, and upgraded as National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in 2002. Mangalore is the headquarters of the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, and boasts an important centre of education, business and trade in the state. Sri. U. Srinivasa Mallya, a visionary and a philanthropist, contributed immensely to the development of the coastal region of Karnataka, and his effort towards establishment of KREC (now NITK) is the most significant one. National Institute of Technology Karnataka Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Library Apprentice Trainees at the Central Library of NITK, Surathkal, purely on temporary basis.

The National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (NITK) is looking for young, dynamic, tech-sawy, highly motivated and committed fresh Graduates or Post – Graduates in Library & Information Science from recognized Indian universities to serve as Library Apprentice Trainees purely on a temporary basis for a period of 11 Months.
Nature of Traineeship: Learn while you work on different functions & services of the library.
Duration: The duration of traineeship will be for Eleven Months

Library Apprentice Trainees at Central Library
Minimum Qualification: MLISc. / BLISc. From a recognized University
Age Limit: Below 35 years as on 31st, December 2021.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Library Apprentice Trainees Remuneration: Consolidated Stipend of Rs.15,000/- per month.

Candidates fulfilling the above requirements may send their applications in the prescribed format (see enclosure/attachment) along with self attested photocopies of all certificates addressed to The Registrar, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Post Srinivasnagar, Mangalore -575 025, on or before 20th, December 2021. The applications other than in this format or incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. Those who have already undergone training in the Institute need not apply again. Candidates are advised to visit Institute website regularly for any update. No interim enquiry will be entertained.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending selection process. The authority has the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit based on qualification and experience.
Note: The Institute will have no obligation to absorb the trainees on completion of the training. The Library Apprentice Trainees will be relieved at the end of the training period.
