National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, earlier known as Regional Institute of Technology was established on 15th August 1960 as a joint venture of Government of India and the Government of Bihar in the chain of REC’s (Regional Engineering College) in India with the aim to generate technical graduates of highest standards who could provide technological leadership to the region. It was among the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) established as part of the Second Five-Year Plan (1956 – 1961). This was the only REC in the country which was named as RIT (Regional Institute of Technology).

Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position  An online/walk-in-interview of eligible Indian citizens for the position of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in SERB-DST sponsored research project in the Department of Production & Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, India will be held as per the details mentioned below: Title of the Project :Development of a novel and indigenous process chain for fabrication of low-cost, high performance, super-abrasive micro-grinding tools.Funded By Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science & Technology,Government of India. Duration of Three years or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier. Initial appointment will be for one year which is extendable up to three years subjected to satisfactory performance of the JRF and extension of the project.

Eligibility

Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)01 post
Essential:M.Tech/M.EM.S in Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA at both B.E./ B. Tech. and M.EM. Tech levels or B.E./ B. Tech. in Mechanical/Production Engineering with CGPA above 8.0/10 and with a GATE Score.

Preferable:Candidates with exposure to experimental work in micro-manufacturing/coating deposition technology will be preferred.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Rs. 31,000/- (+ HRA as per norms) per month (JRF) for first two years and
  • Rs. 35,000/- (+ HRA as per norms) per month (SRF) for the third year.
