Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad Prayagraj (MNNIT) is an Institute with total commitment to quality and excellence in academic pursuits. It was established as one of the seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges of India in the year 1961 as a joint enterprise of Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh, and was an associated college of University of Allahabad, which is the third oldest university in India. For a short duration of two years (2000-2002), the Institute was affiliated to U.P. Technical University. With over 45 years of experience and achievements in the field of technical education, having traversed a long way, on June 26, 2002 MNREC was transformed into National Institute of Technology and Deemed University fully funded by Government of India. With the enactment of National Institutes of Technology Act-2007(29 to 2007), the Institute has been granted the status of institution of national importance w.e.f. 15.08.2007.

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow (on contract) in research project entitled “Computational screening to identify plant derived DPP IV inhibitors as therapeutics of diabetes type 2” sanctioned vide letter no. CRG/2022/002804 dated 19/12/2022 and sponsored by SERB, New Delhi. Description and Objectives of the Project: We aim to screen DPP-4 inhibitor herbal peptides by using computational approaches. The objective is to develop a computational tool for easy screening of DPP-4 inhibitor peptides based on models derived from binding affinity between the receptor and ligands. Additionally, a repository of anti DPP IV plant based peptides will be developed. The position is purely temporary. It will be governed by the funding agency rules & service conditions of Office of the Dean (Research & Consultancy), MNNIT Allahabad. Number of Position : 1 (One)

Eligibility

Position: Junior Research Fellow (On Contract)

Essential Qualifications: Students pursuing B.Tech., M.Tech. and M.Sc. in Biotechnology or life sciences or any relevant discipline.M.Tech./M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, MolecularHuman Genetics, Molecular Biology or any relevant discipline suitable to the work proposed in the project. NET and/or GATE qualified.

Desirable Experience: 75% marks or equivalent CGPA in M.Sc. or 65% marks or equivalent CGPA in M.Tech. One year research experience in related area.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Rs. 31,000/ per month + HRA @ 16 % (or as per Funding agency guidelines) Other Benefits : Accommodation may be available as per the availability and the Institute norms. Candidate selected for the JRF may register for Ph.D. if eligibility conditions as set by institute is met by him/her. Facility of yearly leave, carryover leave, medical benefits etc. may be available as per applicable rules of the project staff.
