Must Read

The Department of Management Studies (DMS), MNIT Jaipur, was started in the year 1996 as a Centre of Management Studies and Industrial Collaboration under a self-finance scheme. Since then, DMS has been grooming future business leaders by following a judicious blend of theory and practice, using highly innovative teaching pedagogy. The Department currently offers MBA and PhD (Management) programs. During the last 18 years, around 700 students have completed MBA from this Department. The Department provides an intellectually stimulating environment to the students enrolled in its program. A judicious mix of exposure to theory, practice and experience sharing with industry and subject experts is provided to participants for the all-round grooming. With a combination of a frequently updated curriculum that reflects current industry skill demands, a well-balanced modern pedagogy, infrastructure that supports and enables cutting-edge digital content delivery and experiences, and a faculty with rich experience in teaching, research and consulting, DMS is well prepared to meet the future challenges of the industry

Program Description

More than 90% of the biggest companies in different countries now publish sustainability reports, and GRI Standards are the most widely used standards for sustainability reporting across the globe. As environmental degradation and the fear of catastrophic changes in the Earth’s climate increase, the pressure on business organizations to disclose meaningful data on their social and ecological impacts is mounting. The market leaders are reporting not just financial data but non-financial too. The Union Government of India launched the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) Framework mandatory for the top 1000 listed companies to disclose material topics, stakeholder engagement practices and economic, social and environmental impacts.

The BRSR is a significant revision over the previous reporting format of 2019. As we move closer to the deadline for the Sustainable Development Goals and the net-zero targets, the reporting regulations are evidently becoming more demanding. We are moving from voluntary to mandatory code, graduating to a comprehensive and robust disclosure system. Thus, knowing the proper frameworks, guidelines, trends and challenges in sustainability and integrated reporting is becoming an essential skill in the corporate world across functional areas like marketing, finance, operations and human resource management.
