Description

The Dr. Ambedkar Chair at JNU is designed to serve as a center of learning and research, focusing on the socio-economic and cultural life of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Minorities, Backward Classes, and other socially and economically weaker sections of society. The Chair Professor will engage in high-quality research, teaching, and organizing academic activities such as lectures, seminars, and workshops. The role also involves supervising doctoral students and publishing scholarly articles and books.

Eligibility

Candidates must be eminent scholars with an M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology, a minimum of ten publications, and at least ten years of teaching or research experience at the university or national level. Preference will be given to candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, or other socially and economically weaker sections.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Pay Scale: Academic Level 14 under the UGC guideline from time to time (As in Cell I of 7th CPC).
