National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions.
Introduction
The Graduate Aptitude Test- Biotechnology (GAT-B)/ Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) is a National Level Entrance Examination for admission to Department of Biotechnology supported Post Graduate Programme in Biotechnology and allied areas in participating Institutions (GAT-B) and for award of DBT – Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology (BET)
Eligible
Academic Qualification: Bachelors (B.E./ B.Tech.) and Masters (M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.VSc./ Integrated M.Sc./ M.Tech.) in any discipline of Biotechnology, Life-Sciences or any other allied areas of Biology.
Candidates admitted in any of the M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.VSc./ M.Sc.(Agri) programmes supported under the DBT Post Graduate Teaching Programme shall be eligible to apply. Candidates who are yet to appear in the final semester examination or awaiting result of final semester examination are also eligible to apply.
Details of The Award
Category-I entitles a shortlisted candidate for activation of fellowship subject to joining Ph.D. Programme and subsequent registration of Ph.D. from recognized University/ Institution across India within two (2) years from the date of issuance of award letter. Registration for Ph.D. is candidate’s responsibility and DBT/ RCB has no role/ responsibility in this matter. Verification of documents will be carried out for shortlisted candidates only. Award letter will not be issued to candidates found ineligible or who submit incorrect documents or whose documents are not received after one (1) year from the date of declaration of BET 2021 result
How to Apply
(i) Candidates can apply for GAT-B/BET or both -2021 through “Online” mode only. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
(ii) Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. Multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will not be accepted under any circumstances.
