Job Description

VKPL is inviting applications for the post of Research Associate (RA, 2 positions). We expect to attract exceptional candidates for the positions, and the successful candidate will undertake research
activities along with the VKPL faculty team. The lab is headed by Prof. Vivek Pandey. More recently, we have initiated the use of Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) in our work. Therefore, the RA will be working on some exciting problems that relate causal inference with data science and policy design. The RA will have the opportunity to take courses offered by lab faculty at
IRMA viz., Econometric Methods of for Causal Inference, Field Experiments for Social Policy, PhD level Micro Theory, PhD level Mathematical Economics, etc.

Position

Research Associate

Eligibility

1. Post-graduate in Economics (including applied, and mathematical economics), statistics, public policy, or other relevant social science fields with a strong quantitative focus.
2. Both fresh and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply for the position
3. Basic econometric skills.
4. Introductory knowledge of statistical software packages (STATA or R).
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
6. Previous work experience in conducting field experiments, and/or quasi-experiments will be preferred

Remuneration

Candidates should be available to initiate the work at the earliest. VKPL offers a consolidated starting remuneration of INR 45,000 p.m. This is a contractual position for two years with a possibility of extending another year, based on the candidate’s performance and availability of funds. The general terms and conditions of employment at IRMA will be applicable.
