A walk-in-interview will be conducted on 27 December 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with maintaining all preventive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 Global Pandemic as directed by the Government of India in the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Unit Seminar Room, 8^th Floor, S.N. Bose Bhawan for the recruitment of one (01) Project linked Post Doctoral Fellow purely on temporary basis to work in the project titled “SARER: Semantically-aware representations for efficient reasoning”, funded by Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA) and undertaken at the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Unit of the Institute, Kolkata.

Eligibility

Essential: Ph.D. degree in the areas related to Computer Science/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Physics. The candidate must have at least 60% marks or equivalent grades throughout from 10^th standard onwards.

Desirable: Ph.D. degree in the areas of Machine Learning with publications in SCI journals/ top-tire conferences related to Machine Learning/ Natural Language Processing (NLP)/ Image Processing, etc. Good programming skill preferably in Python and skill in using Deep Learning Libraries.

Tenure of appointment : The duration of the appointment will be initially for one year from the date of his/her joining the institute which may be extended later/terminated earlier depending on availability of funds and performance of the candidate.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Pay of Rs.47,000/- (Rupees forty seven thousand only) plus HRA of Rs.11,280/- (Rupees eleven thousand two hundred eighty only) i.e. Rs.58,280/- (Rupees fifty eight thousand two hundred eighty only) per month as per the rules of Institute.

Eligible and interested candidates are required to bring a cover letter addressed to the Professor-in-Charge, Computer and Communication Sciences Division of the Institute along with current resume (signed) in English, which is required to include (a) Name (In block letters), (b) Permanent/ Present Address, (c) E-mail Address, (d) Telephone/Mobile No., (e) Parent’s/Spouse’s Name, (f) Date of birth, (g) Academic Qualifications (with percentage of marks/ grades obtained in each examination starting from 10^th class), (h) Experience (if any), especially in an area pertaining to the project, (i) Programming languages known, (j) Aadhaar Card/ Voter Card/ Pan Card, (k) SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled status including self attested copies of all documents/testimonials. Original documents are needed for verification at the time of interview. CVs with incomplete information or without supporting documents may be summarily rejected. At the time of joining, selected candidate(s) have to produce all relevant documents/testimonials in original for verification and a medical certificate of fitness from the Medical Officer of the Institute. Failing this, the institute will offer the position to the next candidate in the merit list prepared for this purpose. Selection of shortlisted candidates will be through interview.
