The legacy of IMU’s Navi Mumbai campus can be traced back to 1927, when nautical training was initiated on the Training Ship Dufferin. Following the decommissioning of Dufferin, the training of cadets continued on the TS Rajendra from 1972. In 1993, the maritime training institute moved to a shore-based academy called TS Chanakya, where the scope of education was broadened to include personality development along with technical training. Eventually, TS Chanakya was merged with IMU to become the Navi Mumbai Campus of the university.

Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Director (Physical Education) and Faculty(Marine Engineering) purely on contract basis. The contract appointments would be for a period of six months initially and extendable based on performance during last tenure. Mode of Selection shall be Interview.

Essential Qualification and Experience: Essential: i) A Master’s Degree in Physical Education with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B at seven point scale of O,A,B,C,D,E & F. ( ii)Must have cleared National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC. (iii) Record of having represented University/college at the inter university/inter collegiate level or the state in national championships. (iv)Passed the physical fitness test. Desirable: Ph.D.degree in related subject. Faculty (Marine Engineering)MEO 1 (01 No post) Essential: (a) MEO Class 1 (Motor) C.O.C. ( b) Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at Management level within the meaning of STCW Convention in force. Desirable: (c) To have done VICT (TOTA) course and AECS
