Applications are Invited from Interested and motivated candidates for the post of Project Associate (PA-1) in a time bound research project for a temporary period,purely on contract basis as per the following details.
Catalyst deactivation by coking spans the oil refining industry. It is well known that coking impacts the surface area and pore size distribution of catalysts. The project will work on the development of appropriate regeneration protocols for catalysts employed in propane dehydrogenation to ensure extended life for catalysts.
Position
- Project Associate (PA-1)
- Project Title : Production of propylene and hydrogen via propane dehydrogenation: catalyst and process development at bench scale.
Eligibility
- Project Associate : B.Tech/B.E or M.Tech/M.E in Chemical Engineering; M.Sc Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Candidates with master’s degree in chemical engineering or an M.Sc degree in Chemistry and relevant experience as detailed in the job description will be given preference.
- Desirable skills:
- Synthesis and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts
- Experience in handling high pressure, high temperature reactors
- Experience in fabrication and setting up bench-scale reactors
- Performing catalyst deactivation studies and determining deactivation mechanisms
- Creating chemical process simulation models on process simulator packages
- Modelling reaction kinetics
- Development of novel downstream applications of the process.
- Proven scientific writing skills, and a strong knowledge of science and engineering principles.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Project Associate :
- Rs. 31,000/-+ HRA to scholars who are selected through
- a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
- b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
- Rs. 25,000/- +HRA for others who do fall under (i) above
