Applications are invited for the temporary post of Research and Development Specialist, The Office of Global Engagement, IIT Madras. The Energy Consortium is an umbrella initiative at IIT Madras that spans the whole spectrum of research in energy generation, storage, conversion, and distribution. We are a global industry- academia-government collaborative effort established with the aim of accelerating the development of technologies that enable the energy transition towards a low-carbon future. The core expertise areas at the consortium include carbon capture and storage, gas hydrates, coal and biomass conversion to useful chemicals, renewable energy systems, including applications in electrolyzer technologies for CO2 conversion and green hydrogen, energy storage technologies, both lithium and beyond, and distributed energy management, including for resilient AC and DC microgrids.

Eligibility
Research and Development Specialist –
- Work experience of at least 3-5 years post Masters level education in energy domain in engineering or science disciplines, or 2-4 years post a PhD degree from a reputed institution.
- Strong knowledge of techno-economics is desirable.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Critical-thinking skills – systematic interpretation of data to contribute to innovative research methodology.
- Ability to analyze complex data from disparate sources.
Minimum Yearly Remuneration
Research and Development Specialist : Rs 12Lakh /- to Rs.15Lakh /- Per Annum (Competitive salary commensurate with experience)
