The Indian School of Mines was formally opened on 9th December 1926, by Lord Irwin, the then Viceroy of India to address the need for trained manpower related to mining activities in the country with disciplines of Mining and Applied Geology. In 1967 it was granted the status of a deemed to be university under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. Since its establishment, IIT(ISM) has undergone considerable expansion of its activities, and presently it can be considered as a total technology education institute.
Job Description
Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. Research Associate-I ( RA-I) position under DST-SUTRA Project Applications are invited under the sponsored project. The details of the project are as under: Title of The Project “Cow dung derived Hybrid adsorbent for heavy metal removal and its subsequent utilization as cheaper electrodes for energy storage devices“.
Tenure of Project : 06 months or till the end of project. Candidates having experience with Materials Science (With special
reference to electrode material and adsorbents), Wastewater treatment, Analytical Chemistry will be preferred.

Eligibility
Essential Qualification: PhD in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/ Environmental Engineering/Environmental Science or related disciplines with good academic record.
*Candidates who have submitted Ph.D. thesis and are waiting for viva voce may also apply. For such candidates, fellowship amount will be that of an SRF until he/she defends Ph.D.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- 47000 + HRA
