Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. At present the Institute has eleven departments and five inter-disciplinary academic centres covering all the major engineering, science and humanities disciplines, offering BTech, BDes, MA, MDes, MTech, MSc and PhD programmes. Within a short period of time, IIT Guwahati has been able to build up world class infrastructure for carrying out advanced research and has been equipped with state-of-the-art scientific and engineering instruments.Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati’s campus is on a sprawling 285 hectares plot of land on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra around 20 kms. from the heart of the city. Visiting Professor / Visiting Associate Professor / Visiting Assistant Professor in the project entitled “M.Des Programme/ Executive Development Programme in Electronic Product Design” Department of Design, IIT Guwahati.

Position

• Visiting Associate Professor/ Visiting Professor / Visiting Assistant Professor

Eligibility

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering along with a PhD degree in
Electronics/ Computer Science and Engineering/ Design. Candidates
who have submitted their PhD thesis are also eligible to apply.
Candidates with industrial experience in the relevant field viz.
consumer electronics, medical devices, toys, mobile phone etc. will
be preferred. Pre PhD industrial experience will also be considered.
Knowledge of industrial design is desired. Retired faculty members of
an institute of national importance, may also apply for this contractual
appointment. Minimum requirements of qualification and /or experience may be relaxed in respect of exceptionally outstanding
candidates.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

Visiting Associate Professor/ Visiting Professor / Visiting Assistant Professor – 1,20.000 per month.

Duration of Appointment in months: 11(extendable up to the total duration of the project based on the concerned Ministry’s approval).
