The Indian School of Mines was formally opened on 9th December 1926, by Lord Irwin, the then Viceroy of India to address the need for trained manpower related to mining activities in the country with disciplines of Mining and Applied Geology. In 1967 it was granted the status of a deemed to be university under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. Since its establishment, IIT(ISM) has undergone considerable expansion of its activities, and presently it can be considered as a total technology education institute.

IIT (ISM), Dhanbad invites applications from Indian nationals for the post of Chief of Medical Services (Unreserved).

Eligibility
Chief of Medical Services
(i) M.D. or M.S. Degree in a clinical discipline with an outstanding educational background with at least 15 years professional experience, out of which 07 years in the Grade Pay of Rs. 8700/- (Pay Level – 13) or equivalent.
(ii) Administrative experience in the capacity of being incharge of an Institute / Research Organization / Industrial – township hospital which would be serving at least 5000 beneficiaries.
Senior Medical Officer M.D. or M.S. Degree in a clinical discipline with an outstanding educational background with at least 08 years professional experience, out of which 05 years in the Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/- (Pay Level – 11) or equivalent.
Medical Officer M.D or M.S in an appropriate branch of Medicine OR Postgraduate Diploma in an appropriate branch of Medicine plus at least one year experience in a recognized hospital. OR M.B.B.S. including completion of compulsory rotatory internship followed by at least 03 years of experience in a recognized hospital.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Chief of Medical Services Group A/ Pay Level-14 plus Non Practicing Allowance
- Senior Medical Officer Group A/ Pay Level-12 plus Non Practicing Allowance
- Medical Officer Group A/ Pay Level-10 plus Non Practicing Allowance
