Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai was established in the state of Chhattisgarh by Ministry of Human Resource and Development in the year 2016. IIT Bhilai is presently housed in its transit campus at Government Engineering College (GEC) Raipur, Chhattisgarh. IIT Bhilai has established a 3-D Printing Lab that constitutes an integral part of 3-D Modeling and Design course, a fabrication lab, an electrical lab, a computer lab and a library in a short duration.
Description
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the position of Project associate in a IBITF funded research project with the following details:
Title of the Project: Application of thermal radiography and artificial intelligence for detection of surface defects in blooms/billets during continuous casting process
Principal Investigator: Dr. Rahul Jain, Designation: Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bhilai, Kutelabhata, Dist: Durg (rahul@iitbhilai.ac.in).
Brief overview of project: The project aims to develop an online defect identification system during continuous casting process. The defect identification system should be able to identify the defective
and non-defective billet/blooms

Eligibility
Project Associate
Essential qualifications: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/Computer science engineering with two years of relevant experience. or M.Tech in Mechanical/Computer science.
Desirable: Knowledge/Experience in Digital image processing, machine learning, Defect detection through non-destructive technique, Numerical modeling of continuous casting process.
Age limit: 45 years
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
Project Associate: 35,000-50,000 (Consolidated) Deserving candidate with higher experience in related field / qualification may get higher salary.
Duration: One year. Extension may be provided subject to availability of funds in the project and performance of the candidate.
