The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is seeking a qualified Senior Research Fellow to contribute to a project funded by the Directorate of Environment & Climate Change (DoECC), Government of Kerala. The project aims to develop high-resolution climate models to better understand and adapt to climate change impacts in Kerala.

Project Details

Project Title: “High-resolution regional climate downscaling of precipitation and temperature for better climate change adaption over Kerala”.

Duration: One year (with possibility of extension based on performance).

Eligibility

Candidates must possess an MTech. /ME/MS/BS-MS in Climate Science, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Physics, Water Resources, Environmental Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field. General and OBC candidates should have a minimum of 70% marks or equivalent CGPA in their postgraduate examination, while SC/ST and differently abled candidates require 65%. Additionally, a minimum of two years of research experience after the master’s degree is required. Proficiency in atmospheric modelling, climate downscaling, climate data analysis, and experience with Fortran/R/Python coding and gridded meteorological datasets is desirable.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • ₹35,000 per month (as per KSCSTE guidelines)
