The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) is dedicated to scientific research and science education of international standards. Traditionally, teaching has been segregated from research in undergraduate science curricula in our country. The IISERs were established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to bridge this dichotomy. IISER TVM was founded in 2008. The institute aims to provide high quality education in modern science, integrating it with outstanding research at the undergraduate level itself, and to develop a spirit of enquiry cutting across disciplines. IISER TVM is an autonomous institution offering a five-year BS-MS programme in addition to iPh.D and Ph.D. programmes in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and inter-disciplinary areas.

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is one of the premier science education and research institutes established by the Government of India in 2008 to impart high-quality education integrated with outstanding research in modern science. The Institute invites applications for the following positions on contract basis. Title of Project : On the central idempotents of algebras arising from Schur-Weyl Duality and the invariant theory of certain groups. Funded by DST-SERB. Tenure of the post : Project duration is for 1 year and 4 months. Initial contract is for one year and extendable based on the performance of the candidate.

Research Assistant 01 Post Essential qualifications: Ph.D. Degree in Mathematics.
Desirable qualifications: This project requires strong background in representation theory and some knowledge in Lie group representations and Schur-Weyl duality is preferable.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Rs. 47,000 + HRA (Per Month)
