Description

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Research Associate-1 (RA-1) in the Department of Chemical Sciences. The research area focuses on theoretical and computational biophysical chemistry, with a particular emphasis on protein-nucleic acid interactions. This position is supported by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and will be supervised by Dr. Susmita Roy.

Project Details

Research Area: “Theoretical and Computational Biophysical Chemistry (Focus: Protein-Nucleic acid Interaction)”.

Tenure: One year (extendable up to 2 years based on the research progress and performance).

Principal Investigator: Dr. Susmita Roy

Eligibility

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. with proven expertise in computational chemistry, physics, biophysics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or bioengineering. Desirable qualifications include proficiency in Python and shell scripting, knowledge of bioinformatics, and experience with AI/ML frameworks for managing large-scale biological datasets. Experience with molecular dynamics simulations and enhanced sampling techniques is highly preferred.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Rs. 58,000/- plus House Rent Allowance (HRA)
