Description

Field Location: Kolkata, Kalyani and nearby areas in Nadia, North 24 Parganas and Hooghly districts of West Bengal

Project background: We are conducting field-based experiments on free ranging Dogs (FRDs) to understand their personalities. Some of the experiments will include Dog- Human & Dog- Langur interactions, and human surveys.

Position

• Field Assistant

Project Title: “Nature vs Nature: Exploring Behavioural syndromes in free ranging Dogs”

Eligibility

● M.Sc. in Zoology with a keen interest in animal behaviour.
● Must be comfortable around hanuman langurs and street dogs.
● Must have minimum 6 months working experience in the field with street dogs and/ or langurs.
● Should have a wide experience in organising and volunteering in outreach activities.
● Must be willing to commit for at least 6 months towards the study. We are not looking for short-term interns.
● Must be able to converse and read in Bengali, English and/or Hindi.
● Be comfortable working during the night.
● Should be willing to be vaccinated against rabies (provided by the lab).

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

Rs. 10,000 per month. The candidate needs to arrange for their accommodation
