IISERs were created through a proclamation of Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in science and related areas. The first two IISERs (Pune and Kolkata) were established in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007), Bhopal & Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015), and Berhampur (2016).

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal Applications are invited for the post of “Project Scientist-I” for a research project entitled “Source apportionment, development of emission inventory and carrying capacity determination for Durgapur, Asansol and Raniganj in West Bengal” funded by the West Bengal Pollution Control Board.

Eligibility
Position: Project Scientist-I
The position requires a Ph.D. in Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or other relevant natural/engineering science disciplines from a recognized University/Institute. The candidate will be required to participate in field campaigns and laboratory chemical analysis. Expertise in aerosol chemical analyses including sample preparation and analysis on ED-XRF, IC, ICP-OES, TOT/TOR carbon analysis are required. Experience in TD-GC-MS is an advantage. The candidate should also have good verbal and written communication skills as well as be experienced in standard computing languages such as C/C++ and be able to perform required data analyses on MATLAB or similar open source software.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
Salary: Rs. 56,000 per month + HRA. Increment of 5 % for every 2 years of experience subject to performance review.
