IISERs were created through a proclamation of Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in science and related areas. The first two IISERs (Pune and Kolkata) were established in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007), Bhopal & Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015), and Berhampur (2016). IISERs were incorporated as Institutions of National Importance under the umbrella of the NIT (Amendment) Act, 2012 (NIT Act 2007). The Act was further amended in 2014, entitled the NITSER ACT 2014. Each IISER is a degree-granting autonomous institute.
Description
Applications are invited from highly motivated and experienced candidates for a Senior Research Fellow in our research group. The candidate is expected to work largely independently on the topic of physics-informed neural networks. The selected candidate will implement various network architectures and test the neural networks for their generalizability and accuracy for predicting multiphase flow solutions. The candidate is also expected to write manuscripts on the basis of the generated results for publication in reputed journals. Number of positions: One (1) Duration: Nine (9) months.

Essentials qualifications:
1. Master’s (M.Sc.)/M.Tech degree in any of the disciplines of Chemical Engineering, Physics, Environmental Physics/Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science and Engineering from a recognised University/ Institution with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10 point scale (overall percentage/CGPA/CPI; not only in majoring subject). Candidates having an M.Tech./M.E. degree from India must have qualified for the GATE exam at the time of admission to the M.Tech./M.E. programme. GATE examination is exempt for those with B.Tech. from IITs or BS-MS from IISERs with CGPA/CPI more than 8.0 on a 10-point scale.
2. Strong background in Mathematics/Numerical methods with a basic knowledge of fluid mechanics.
3. In addition to minimum qualification, the candidate should have passed a National level exam like the National Eligibility Test (NET)/CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF/INSPIRE-Ph.D./GATE/Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship.
4. At least two years of working experience in the field of fluid mechanics involving numerical/computational methods.
Desirables:
1. Experience in Programming (like FORTRAN, C/C++, Matlab, Python, NCL, etc.); Shell scripting.
2. Ability to run parallel codes on HPC and manage large amounts of data.
3. Working experience in LINUX/UNIX environment.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
Salary: 42,000/- + H.R.A. if applicable.
