IISERs were created through a proclamation of Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in science and related areas. The first two IISERs (Pune and Kolkata) were established in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007), Bhopal & Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015), and Berhampur (2016). IISERs were incorporated as Institutions of National Importance under the umbrella of the NIT (Amendment) Act, 2012 (NIT Act 2007). The Act was further amended in 2014, entitled the NITSER ACT 2014. Each IISER is a degree-granting autonomous institute.

Advertisement for the post of Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow for the Department of Chemistry Online applications are invited from Indian Nationals in the prescribed format (Annexure I) as per the details mentioned hereunder: Name of the Post: Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow (IPDF) Research Area: Synthesis of small optically-active molecules for biological applications, molecular spectroscopy, live-cell fluorescence imaging, ffid development of novel antibacterial agents.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria:The applicant should have a Ph.D. Degree from a recogrized University/Institute in Chemistry or any other related field. Applicant should also have experience in organic synthesis and chemical biology. A prior experience in cell culture and antimicrobial investigations will be preferred. Preference will be given to the candidates with NET/GATE qualifications. Ph.D. scholars who have submitted their Thesis are also eligible to apply. However, the scholar has to submit the provisional/degree certificate within six months from the date of appointment. If not submitted within the time limit, the appointment will stand cancelled or a decision will be taken in consultation with the thesis processing authority. Candidates who have completed their Ph.D. from IISER Bhopal are not allowed to apply for these IPDF positions.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow (IPDF) Rs. 67,000/- per month + House Rent Allowance (as per Institute rules). However, the candidates who have submitted thesis and the award of PhD Degree / provisional degree is awaited, they will be paid reduced fellowship of Rs. 35,000/- per month plus HRA. On submission of PhD degree, full fellowship of Rs. 67,0001- plus HRA shall be restored effective from the date of award of PhD degree / provisional degree.
