IIEST, Shibpur (Erstwhile “Bengal Engineering College”) ranks 27^th in NIRF-2021 among Engineering Institutes. It is the first college to become Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) in India in 2014. The Institute has a rich history. It is empowering the nation since 1856. Considering the year of establishment, it is the 3^rd engineering college in India but considering the year of graduation it is the 2^nd oldest engineering college in India. It has 16 departments and 8 schools. It has over 250 faculty members and a student strength of over 4000.

Eligibility

Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Essential Qualification: M.Tech. / M.E. in Information Technology / Computer Science and Engineering / Electronics Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (throughout from class X to the qualifying degree). For SC/ST/ Person with Disability (PwD) category, a minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (throughout from class X to the qualifying degree) is required.
OR
B.Tech./B.E in Information Technology / Computer Science and Engineering / Electronics Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with minimum of 80% aggregate marks or 8.5 CGPA (throughout from class X to the qualifying degree) and a valid GATE score are eligible to apply.
Desirable Qualification: (1) M.E. / M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology with previous GATE qualification. (2) Knowledge in Machine Learning / Image Processing. (3) Experience in Python

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- per month (consolidated).
