The Central University of Haryana is seeking a qualified Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for a project titled “Development of climate-resilient mustard through multiplex genome editing of abiotic stress-related genes.” This project is sponsored by DST-Haryana/HSCSIT and is a temporary position tied to the project’s duration, currently set to end on 15 February 2027, or upon project termination, whichever comes first. Project Details

Project Title: “Development of climate-resilient mustard through multiplex genome editing of abiotic stress-related genes”.

Duration: Purely temporary appointment for the remaining duration of the project, presently up to 15 February 2027.

Eligibility

Candidates must meet the qualifications prescribed for Junior Research Fellows (JRF) with an additional two years of research experience. This includes a Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course, selected through national-level examinations such as CSIR-lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE, or other examinations conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies/Institutions like DST, DBT, DAE, etc. Hands-on experience in plant molecular biology, molecular cloning, plant tissue culture/transformation, and CRISPR/Cas-based plant genome editing is essential. Experience with Brassica/mustard or other crop transformation/genome-editing systems is preferred.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Rs. 42,000/- per month + HRA as applicable under DST/GOL norms

The interview will be held at Office No. 35, Department of Biotechnology, Academic Block-I, Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh, Haryana – 123031. Candidates must bring a detailed CV, original certificates/documents, one set of self-attested photocopies, proof of qualifying examination, research experience, and a recent passport-size photograph. No T.A./D.A. will be provided for attending the interview.
