Anna University was established on 4th September, 1978 as a unitary type of University. This University was named after Late Dr.C.N.Annadurai, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. It offers higher education in Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Applied Sciences relevant to the current and projected needs of the society. Besides promoting research and disseminating knowledge gained therefrom, it fosters cooperation between the academic and industrial communities. The University was formed by bringing together and integrating four well known technical institutions in the city of Madras (now Chennai) namely,

Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) (Established in 1949)

Essential Qualification: M.E./M.Tech. in Internal Combustion Engineering / Thermal Engineering / Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Engineering/Automobile Engineering/other Thermal engineering disciplines.
Desirable Qualification:PhD or must have aspiration to join PhD
Technical Assistant (TA) 01 post:
Essential Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering /Production Engineering/ Manufacturing Engineering/ Automobile Engineering/Mechatronics/Material Science and Engineering.
The position is purely temporary for 6 months and may be extended based on the performance.
GATE/NET qualified candidates will be given preference and considered for JRF. If suitable candidates are not found in GATE/NET category, Non GATE/Non NET candidate will be considered for suitable post and salary will be fixed accordingly as per the norms of Anna University.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
For JRF – Rs. 32,500 /- per month.
For TA – Rs. 20,000 /- per month.
