Description
Work as a co instructor for undergraduate courses (2 courses during a regular semester) which involves teaching tutorials; helping students understand the course material; managing other TAs of the course; help in preparing, conducting, and grading of exams and tests; and other tasks as suitably assigned by a course instructor. Moreover, a Teaching Fellow is responsible for overall administration of a course including managing the course website. A Teaching Fellow may also be a primary instructor in short duration courses during Summer or Winter breaks or for refresher modules (3-5 days) at the beginning of a semester.

Essential Qualifications
M.Sc. (Mathematics), M.Sc. (Physics), M.Sc. (Statistics), M.Stat., M.Phil. (Mathematics), M.Tech., M.E. in CSE/ECE/Mathematics and similar interdisciplinary programs.
An applicant is required have B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Mathematics/Statistics or allied areas, or a B.Tech./M.Tech. in an allied Engineering discipline with sufficient mathematical background (equivalent to the level of B.Sc. and M.Sc.) from a reputed Institute/University with good academic record throughout.
Preference will be given to the candidates with TA experience. The advertised position is best suited for those who are looking for academic careers. Moreover, it is desirable that an applicant has submitted a Ph.D. thesis and is awaiting defense of their thesis, or is a recent Ph.D. degree holder in Mathematics, Statistics or related disciplines.
Demonstration of mathematical abilities through valid scores in exams like GATE, UGC-NET, JAM, CUET and similar national-level competitive examinations would be a valuable addition for an application. Teaching Fellows would also be encouraged to pursue research independently or in collaboration with faculty members
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- The term of appointment will be for one year, which can be renewed after the first year based on performance. No extension will be given after two years.
- The monthly compensation to the candidate with an M.Sc./B.Tech./M.Tech. degree may be offered a starting salary of ₹50,000 per month with hostel accommodation (subject to availability) or ₹55,000 per month without hostel accommodation.
- The monthly compensation to the candidate with a Ph.D. degree (submitted or recently graduated) may be offered a starting salary of ₹60,000 per month with hostel accommodation (subject to availability) or ₹65,000 per month without hostel accommodation.
- Candidates with more relevant experience may be offered a higher starting salary.
- The Institute gives top priority to the ongoing academic activities and does not promote leaving the offered position during an ongoing semester. To ensure this, a monthly deposit of ₹27,500 from the salary of the first two months will be kept with the Institute.
- This deposit will be paid on completion of the offered tenure.
