The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) is dedicated to scientific research and science education of international standards. Traditionally, teaching has been segregated from research in undergraduate science curricula in our country. The IISERs were established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to bridge this dichotomy. IISER TVM was founded in 2008. The institute aims to provide high quality education in modern science, integrating it with outstanding research at the undergraduate level itself, and to develop a spirit of enquiry cutting across disciplines. IISER TVM is an autonomous institution offering a five-year BS-MS programme in addition to iPh.D and Ph.D. programmes in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and inter-disciplinary areas.

Description

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is one of the premier science education and research institutes established by the Government of India in 2008 to impart high-quality education integrated with outstanding research in modern science. The Institute invites applications for the following positions on contract basis.

Title of Project : Carbonyl activation using late-transition metal-hydride complexes (H-M-L-X-H) (X = O, N) containing hydrogen bond donor ligands.Funding agency SERB (SRG/2023/001701).Tenure of the post-12 months.

Position

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 01 Post.

Eligibility

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Essential qualifications: M.Sc Chemistry or equivalent with minimum 65%. SC/ST candidates 60%.
Desirable qualifications: CSIR-UGC NET or Lectureship / GATE (ii) Prior experience in Organometallic chemistry especially Glove box handling and Schlenk techniques (iii) NMR, IR data analysis and routine laboratory techniques (Column Chromatrography, crystallization techniques, reaction set-up).

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Rs. 31,000 + 8% HRA (Rs.2480).
