Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar is one of the eight new IITs set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to expand the reach and enhance the quality of technical education in the country. This institute is committed to providing state-of-the-art technical education in a variety of fields and also for facilitating transmission of knowledge in keeping with latest developments in pedagogy. These two areas of focus will enable students to gain exposure to recent trends in their chosen domains of study and gain practical experience through a wide variety of activities the institute facilitates in its own campus and arranges for in collaboration with industry and other institutes. 

Description

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the position of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB-funded research project with the following details: Title of the project is “Application of artificially polyploidy induced primary skin cells in wound healing”. Three years or up to the termination of the project whichever is earlier, subject to annual performance review.

Eligibility

B.Tech / MSc in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Zoology / Microbiology/Biomedical Engineering with at least 60% or 7.5 CGPA [ 5% or 0.5 CGPA relaxation will be provided to SC/ST/PH candidates] with valid GATE / NET qualifications. Previous experience to handle mammalian cell lines and small animals is desired.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – As per the SERB norms.
