WOS-C scheme aims to train women having qualifications in science/ engineering / medicine or allied areas in the area of IPR and their management for a period of one year. The training will allow them to work from their homes and thus maintain a good balance between professional and domestic demands. The scheme is being implemented by Patent Facilitating Centre (PFC) of Technology Information, Forecasting & Assessment Council (TIFAC) on behalf of DST.

Women Scientists Scheme (WOS) is a flagship scheme of DST. Through one of its components-“Women Scientists Scheme-C (WOS-C)“- it provides One Year on-the-job training in the area of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). Patent Facilitating Centre (PFC) of TIFAC has been entrusted with implementation of WOS-C.

Women with Indian citizenship having Masters in Science or Bachelors in Engineering or Technology and within the age group of 27-45 years as on 01-04-2021 are eligible to apply.

  • Women Scientists Scheme-C (WOS-C)

Eligibility

(1) Women with Indian citizenship
(2) Minimum Essential Qualification: Master of Science; Bachelors in Engineering/Technology or equivalent.
(3) Age : Minimum 27 years; Maximum 45 years as on 01-04-2021

Note : 1) Women in permanent position are not eligible to apply 2) Those who have already undergone training (partially or fully) in any of the earlier batches or those who are undergoing training in the ongoing batch are not eligible to apply.

DESIRABLE
(a) Proficient in handling computerized database, collection, collation, analysis and report preparation.
(b) Basic understanding of various IPR aspects & issues with logical aptitude towards scientific developments across the world. Experience in research, preparation of project reports, term papers and similar activities

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Selected women will be given a stipend during the one – year training as per the following table:

MSc in Basic or Applied Sciences / BTech / MBBS or equivalent Rs. 25,000/- pm
MPhil / MTech / MPharma / MVSc or equivalent Rs. 30,000/- pm
PhD in Basic or Applied Sciences or equivalent Rs. 35,000/- pm
