Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country. International Labour Organization (ILO) served as the executing agency.

Research Associate-I Ph.D in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Physics, Nanotechnology with from a recognized University or equivalent with relevant research experience in the area of Additive Manufacturing with Computer Aided Design Softwares, Sensors, Polymer Blends, Alloys, Composites, Polymer Processing, Piezoelectric, Bio-Medical applications..
Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate-I P.G Degree in Professional Courses: M.E/M.Tech., (Polymer Nanotechnology / Plastic Engineering / Physics / Materials Science & Engineering or M.Sc., (Polymer Science/Physics / Materials Science) or equivalent qualification with first class in PG degree
Project Fellow M.Sc / M.Tech in Polymer Science / Physics/Chemistry/Plastics Engineering/ Material Science & Engineering/ Additive Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering/ Polymer Nanotechnology
Electrician Matriculation with 02 years Full time ITI(Electrician) from any Govt. recognized institute
