NIMHANS is conducting a walk-in selection process to fill the positions of Project Associate (Lab) and Project Associate – II on a contract basis. These roles are integral to the Asian Bipolar Genetics Network (A-BIG-NET) project, which aims to advance research in psychiatric and neurological disorders. The project is set to run for 2 years and 4 months, concluding on December 31, 2028.

Project Details

Project Title: “Asian Bipolar Genetics Network (A-BIG-NET)”.

Duration: 2 Years 4 months (up to 31 December 2028)

 Principal Investigator:  Dr. Biju Viswanath

Eligibility

Project Associate (Lab) position: candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or /genomics/neuroscience/biomedical research a related discipline, along with a minimum of 2 years of research experience in relevant fields. 

Project Associate – II position:  M. Phil in Psychiatric Social Work or a master’s in social work/M.Sc. in Neuropsychology with at least 1.5 years of clinical or research experience is required. Detailed eligibility criteria are available on the NIMHANS website.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Project Associate (Lab): Rs. 42,000/- (consolidated) per month
  • Project Associate – II: Rs. 55,000/- (consolidated) per month

Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria should attend the walk-in-cum-written test with their resume and original testimonials, along with a set of self-attested photocopies. The selection process will take place on September 16, 2026, at 9:30 AM in the Board Room and Exam Hall on the 4th floor of the NBRC Building, NIMHANS, Bangalore.
