The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a groundbreaking project titled “From Snowpack to Soil: Indus Water Treaty Western Basins.” This project, funded by the ANRF under the Earth and Atmospheric Science domain, aims to diagnose and quantify snow droughts in the upstream catchments of the Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab basins. Description

The project focuses on applying super-resolution techniques for downscaling snow products and characterizing snow droughts over the past two decades. Eligibility

Candidates must have a B.Tech./B.E. or M.Tech./M.S./M.Sc. in relevant disciplines with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA and must be GATE/NET qualified. 

The age limit is 30 years, with relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PH as per Government of India norms. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in remote sensing, GIS, hydrology, and data science.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• INR 37,000/- plus HRA
